[Women's Track & Field] Aleona Reyes Earns All-American in Steeplechase

Aleona Reyes earned her third All-American honors for Jamestown College on Saturday in Marion, Indiana.
Aleona is a junior from Belen, New Mexico.
She is only a sophomore for outdoor track purposes as she redshirted outdoor track in 2012.
 
In 2011 and 2012, Aleona earned All-American honors in the fall for cross country.
In 2013, she earned All-American honors in the steeplechase at the NAIA outdoor meet in Marion, Indiana.
 
On Thursday, Aleona ran the anchor of the 4 x 800 meter relay for Jamestown.
70 minutes later, she toed the starting line of the preliminaries for the steeplechase.
She placed third in her heat and fifth overall in that Thursday evening race (50 degrees, 15-20 mph wind).
On Saturday afternoon in better weather, Aleona ran her PR and the 2nd best time in Jamestown history with her 10:48.
The best time for Jamestown in the steeplechase belongs to Katie Conlon, who won the NAIA National Championship in the steeplechase in 2011.
 
Teammate Samantha Goff, a freshman from Danvers, MN, ran the prelims on Thursday.
Goff ran 11:47, 13 seconds off a spot to compete in the finals.
