[Women's Track & Field] Skipper Earns All-American StatusPublished by
Jamestown College senior Sarah Skipper cruised to All-American honors in the heptathlon and helped the Jimmie women's 4x400 relay team set a new school record at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Marion, Indiana on Friday.
Skipper's leap of 17-7 1/2 in the long jump (fourth place), toss of 87-8 in the javelin (12th) and time of 2:24.37 in the 800-meter run (seventh) brought her final score in the heptathlon to 4,637 points, comfortably placing the Lewistown, Mont., native sixth out of 16 competitors. The top sixth individuals all took home All-American nods, and it was Skipper's second All-American honor this season as she also accomplished the feat during the NAIA indoor national championships held in Geneva, Ohio back in March.
