The Jimmie men ran into a deep field in their season-opener, and it showed in the results. Dave Londe was the top runner for the JC men at the Randy Smith Invite on Friday under sun and 85 degrees at Ponderosa Golf Course in Glyndon, Minn., placing 22nd in the first outing of the season. "Overall, it was a good opener," men's coach Ed Crawford said. "For where we are, I thought we did a pretty good job. "We had some guys that didn't put as much work in during the summer as they needed to, but we're not alone in that. We're probably about a month behind, so we'll have to play catch-up. The problem is a month from now we'll still probably be a month behind." Londe's 27:05.90 was easily the top time for the JC men, who were sixth out of seven in the team standings.
