[Men's Track & Field] Jimmies Have Strong Showing in Sioux CityPublished by
The Jamestown College men's track and field team wrapped up a strong showing at the annual Sioux City Relays in Sioux City, Iowa on Saturday. After the Jimmie men went 1-2-3 in the hammer throw on Friday, the team's 110-meter hurdlers went 3-5-6-7 24 hours later. Senior Scott Roemmich laid down a 15:59 to take third, while teammates Trent Roemmich (15.79), Kaleb Garcia (15.96) and JT Petsch (16.10) finished 5-6-7, respectively. Garcia (56.82), Trent Roemmich (57.40) and Petsch (57.48), went on to finish 5-9-10 in the 400 hurdles. Jimmie sophomore Brad Brooks finished second in the discus with a toss of 151-8, while freshman Colton Harkins rang up the Jimmies' best javelin toss of the day, 155-4 which was good enough to place seventh. Joe Ikier led the Jimmie pole-vaulters on Friday night in Vermillion, S.D. Ikier cleared a personal-best 14-6, nearly a foot better than his previous top mark.
