[Women's Track & Field] Strong Showing for Track & FieldPublished by
The wind was howling Saturday at Taylor Stadium, but two more Jamestown College women qualified for nationals despite the conditions.
Sprinter AnnaLiesa Fauth and versatile Katie Zent were the two new qualifiers for the women. Fauth's 25.18 in the 200 was good for second place and a trip to nationals in the 200, and was just .05 off a new school record. Fauth also added a win in the 400 (59.25) and ran a leg in one of the two JC winning relays, teaming with Zent, Sarah Skipper and Beth Segerholm in the 4x100 for a season-best 50.32. Zent flew past her previous best mark in the triple jump, soaring 37 1/2 to qualify. The leap was 22 feet better than her previous best mark, which came indoors.
