Katie Conlon won her heat of the 3000 steeplechase and teammate Alyssa Bossler came in third as both qualified for the finals at the opening day of the NAIA national meet in Marion, Ind.

The two Jamestown College distance runners were the only advancers out of the prelims for Jamestown College on Thursday.

"We did well in some areas, and not quite as well in some other places, but the girls performed well," JC women's coach Jim Clark said. "It wasn't our best day, but we still performed pretty well. The competition level at this meet certainly raises several notches."
